You might remember my Pulled the trigger on this one! post the other day. Please go here if you missed it. [whistling, twiddling thumbs] Don't worry, I'll wait.. Laughing out loud!

OK, you're back. Well, the watch arrived last night, and I must say that I was truly impressed. Everything from the packaging (a useful-enough-to-reuse 'longbox') to the clear, lucid instruction sheets (including a warranty plain-worded enough to almost make me believe it Laughing out loud! ) to a 4F (Fit Finish Feel Factor) level rivalling, if not surpassing ALPHA (which is to say world-class bang-for-the-buck excellent Thumbs Up for this Watch )..

Rousseau Cantata

..told me that I'd done good for me hard-earned Watch Made in USA $69.75. Rolling on the floor laughing my a.. off!

First thing I did was inspect the watch, and the movement in particular, with 5x and 10x loupes. Very impressive level of detail for the money. The dial's crisp even at 10x, there are no ragged edges anywhere.

Likewise a thorough inspection through the well-executed display back reveals that 'tis a "clean build". IOW no extraneous stray dust bunnies are apparent. At a glance..

..the laser etching is crisp and clean, save for the "Rousseau" script logo on the rotor. Not to brag, but I meself could've done better there (remember, I'm a Laser-Etching guru in my professional life Rolling on the floor laughing my a.. off! ).

One happy surprise is that, Wonder Of Wonders, Rousseau used a Long strap which actually fits me! Thumbs Up for this Watch Applause! Applause! Applause! Applause! Thumbs Up for this Watch

Sure, sure, I had to farkle it a bit (remove the fixed keeper, drill a new 'First Hole'), but Is Happy Day! that I'll actually be able to use the..

..branded buckle! Thumbs Up for this Watch The inside leather of the strap has a large "Rousseau" script logo, too, and (with refreshing honesty) has a small 'CHINA' imprint near the lug ends.

As always, thanks for lookin'.

Have a grrrrrrrr8 Day PMWF related post !

..the case size is a measured 41.2 mm. Just about THE perfect size. Small enough so that a bloke like P12! can pull it off, big enough that a Poor Ankle-Wristed Fellow© like meself or ShaneD can wear it w'out lookin' silly. Thumbs Up for this Watch

That magic size that Goldilocks enthused about... Laughing out loud!

Ricky Lee McBroom -- Saturday, 16 August 2008, at 4:33 p.m.

Works different than any other Post about a GMT or 2nd Timezone watch Post containing a movement picture I've got, in that 'tis set by the pin-pusher @ 4. It doesn't sweep as smoothly as some (say the ALPHA Post about a GMT or 2nd Timezone watch ), but makes up for it by being a piece o' cake to set quickly and precisely Thumbs Up for this Watch (which the ALPHA definitely is not I am not happy! ).

Also, it's worth noting that while this is an independent setting Post about a GMT or 2nd Timezone watch movement, it does not work quite like high-end mechanical Post about a GMT or 2nd Timezone watch movements. IOW, you can't alter the local time setting w/out changing GMT time. The Post about a GMT or 2nd Timezone watch is slaved to the crown. But, unlike the ALPHA and similar, you just note your GMT offset, reset local, and a few quick pushes of the button & you're resynched.

All in all a grrrrrr8 li'l watch! Is Happy Day!

Very beautiful dial. The movement looks like the one in my Timex. Pretty decent movement. Post contains no message text (views: 11)

TIMEX does use some Tianjin Seagull Post containing a movement picture s, I believe. Thumbs Up for this Watch I should get one to compare the Watch Made in USA Version! Rolling on the floor laughing my a.. off! (views: 14)
Ricky Lee McBroom -- Saturday, 16 August 2008, at 7:47 p.m.

Anyone know the exact model Post containing a movement picture used in the TIMEX ? AdamNYC? Gigfy?

Excellent review, Rick...that movement looks very nicely finished Thumbs Up for this Watch Post contains no message text (views: 11)

..riiiight. Laughing out loud!

But, while you'd never mistake it for a totally-hand-finished Swiss Made Watch Post containing a movement picture , it is nice enough not to make "Côtes de Genève" a joke.

Being a Myth Brand, I really didn't expect the Rousseau to be this finely finished. Perhaps I shouldn't be surprised, though.. if ALPHA can do it, so can others! Rolling on the floor laughing my a.. off!

Just a gift I was born with. Rolling on the floor laughing my a.. off!

No, seriously, easy answer is - I don't!

But I did research the watch. The Found on the Bay! auction, the MFR's booklet, and my good PMWF related post friends AdamNYC, gigfy, and Reto please read! all tell me 'tis a Tianjin Seagull TY-2856.

Plus, it looks identical to the Post containing a movement picture in my ALPHA ...

..if you discount the finishing & laser-etching. Yeah, I'm pretty sure 'tis a Tianjin Seagull TY-2856.

Researching before you buy! It really does work, Allan. Smiley
