The wait's over, and the ORIENT is in me grubby hands. Yippee!

As I've stated before, this watch has been an Watch below $200! Post about GRAIL watch for going on 2 years and, as such, my expectations were high. My initial impression..

..couldn't be better! I've seen some great photos of this watch (namely Zeb's, and Chris L's), but I don't think any of them really prepared me for the real deal. What a stunning watch! Thumbs Up for this Watch

The second impression was "The dial's not really black black." Li'l hint of blue there..

..Indeed, you hit it with a soft flash..

..and it looks kinda turqouise. Some kinda blue, anyway. But hey, that's fine by me!

The next thing that caught my eye was the extensive knurling;

Both the bezel and crowns are exquisitely knurled. Functional and beautiful. Thumbs Up for this Watch

Moving on to the bracelet.. I'd been warned that it was folded link, and "rather cheap feeling". But I've got no problem with folded links per se, and this one is a cut above average, IMHO;

The links fit tight - there's no 'rattling', and the weight of the combo is perfectly balanced. The action of the clasp is smooth..

..which is the main thing, to me. Indeed, the overall feel of the bracelet is a cut above my SEIKO Post about a watch with titanium case Post about a Chronograph (also folded-link Ti), and it's street price was more than twice the ORIENT's! Heck, the branding on the clasp..

..blows the SEIKO in the weeds, no two ways about it!

That said, I was mildly disappointed that the bracelet was too short. I am not happy! Well.. I expected it, actually. More like I was disappointed in the seller's service ( Found on the Bay! seller t5tradingcom). I requsted an extra link as a note in my PayPal payment. Didn't hear from them in 2 days, so I duplicated the request via Mail me!. Still no answer, and no extra link when the watch arrived. I am not happy!

Ah well, thanks to a certain generous brother PMWF related post-member I've already got a spare link lined up. I'll name no names, but gosh, ol' Chris Larson sure is a great fellow, ain't he? Laughing out loud!

Mind you, the bracelet almost fits;

It doesn't cut the circulation off or anything. It's about 1/2 link tight, and wearable in a pinch.

So all in all, I couldn't be happier. The watch has far more presence on the wrist than I expected, somehow. Dunno why I didn't expect it - a 44mm watch with this kinda styling, I should've - but I didn't.

WIS Honeymoon! WIS Honeymoon! WIS Honeymoon! WIS Honeymoon! WIS Honeymoon!

Thanks for the nice pictorial story Ricky, that was fun! Those 'no bezel' watches always look big on the wrist, I think! Post contains no message text (views: 6)
