I like that it's an unusual color, you typically don't find a lot of grey watches.
That's a lovely watch. I agree with the guys, get >> (Views: 22)

I have to agree with Marc...that watch deserves a better strap >> (Views: 26)

Surely there's a leather strap out there that can be had in a length suitable for your ham hock of a wrist?

Oh, sure! I've got several XL leather straps that would work.
But as hot as it's been here of late, I wouldn't leave the house with leather. When it cools off some, I'll experiment. For us, that'll be about November.

My SSC was relegated to leather for a good while... (Views: 37)
Chance -- August 03, 2010 03:41PM
...and thus relegated to cool-weather wear only until I found a sharp
rubber strap while browsing a Fossil store's selection a few weeks
back. Suits the watch perfectly...
I
reckon there's gotta be a *rubber* strap out there somewhere that'll
fit ya. Unless you don't like rubber straps in hot weather...but for
me, putting the rubber band on the SSC gave it new life during warm
weather months.
I love the SSC! Good solution, too! (Views: 20)

You know, I never considered rubber. Sure, it's a viable option and, like leather, I've got a couple that would work. Thanks!

Ironically, I don't like rubber straps much at all.. except for very hot sticky weather.
I'm
not keen on the "dust magnet" nature of most, for one thing. And I
don't find them to be particularly comfortable, partly because of the
way they tend to "grab" the wrist. But when things get truly hot 'n'
nasty, and they're lubricated by a copious amount of sweat, rubber
straps look & feel a lot better to me, of a sudden.

Great watch, but I cannot endorse its placement on a Nato... (Views: 28)
MCV -- August 02, 2010 11:07PM
not a fan of those straps and to
me, an expensive piece like that deserves a nice leather strap or the
bracelet you now wish you had.
Just my two cents. --Marc
You really think so? To me, the price is irrelevant.. (Views: 31)
Ricky Lee -- August 03, 2010 06:41AM
..when it comes to whether or not a
watch works with a NATO. Rather, it's whether the design & styling
are compatible. The average Seamaster works great for me on a NATO, for
instance. To me, the Multifort also looks and wears totally natural on
the NATO.
And certainly has no problem putting their
pieces on nylon. That Master Compressor Navy Seals LE that I fondled in
Ocho Rios? In addition to the bracelet it included one of these:
And we're talking a watch with a street price of more that six times the here.
It's not
a true NATO, I confess, but "NATO-like". The main run is not one piece,
but 2-piece. It's built sort of like a Bund, come to think of it. It
feels like silk & what with wearing the JLC brand probably costs more than the Multifort itself, if purchased seperately.

Marc I agree brother but us Big guys formerly steroidally injected football players: (Views: 22)
KMJ1966 -- August 03, 2010 12:48AM
such as myself have massive wrists I for one cant buy a standard watch
strap I always have to buy oversize customs, the quick solution is a
Nato so in this case what about a Buffalo or Ostrich Nato? It would up
class the look while making the watch strap more conducive to a watch
at this price point. Although sweaty wrists are not fun either. As for
the 23mm lugs the '59 citizen I overhauled has 21mm I could have gone
down to 20 but cut down a 22 instead to get that I ate too much
feeling!

you could get one with a nice machined deployant for well under a 100 USD.
Also glad to hear you got a good deal. Congrats on all fronts.
Bro. Dan! Yeah, I'll try a mesh.. (Views: 19)
Ricky Lee -- August 02, 2010 09:29PM

Done much better than some other documented vacation purchases on PMWF. (Views: 22)
Chris L -- August 02, 2010 08:02PM
Indeed, paying 2x the going internet price seems to be a tradition for WIS on vacation. The old adrenaline kicks in and triggers the "buy or fly" response when looking at all the shiny stuff in the stores.
It took nearly an hour of haggling to get that price. (Views: 20)
Ricky Lee -- August 02, 2010 09:26PM
The price I was first quoted was a bit more than the median online price.
