1971 Plymouth Duster 340 Wedge
I used to own a '72 Duster, though it had the more pedestrian 318
mill. Actually, it was a sort of a bastard. It had a pre-'66 318 with an Edelbrock
intake, Holley 4-barrel, headers, and 4-speed manual trans. Obviously not factory!
While the 318 ran great, and put out some really respectable power, it was all
cobbled together rather crudely. The trans, for instance, used the older T-type
universal joints, which were a real weak link. So, while I loved the way the car
looked, I was never happy with it. If I could choose any Duster/Demon,
it'd be the '71 340, for sure.
