No, this ain't photoshop;


I took it all back apart and installed the movement out of the 1978 model;



I didn't like the Day function stuck like that. Too caveman for moi. Also, this movement may have had THE worst amplitude of any movement I've ever seen that actually ran. 25, maybe 30 degrees. Scary!

But the thing that really convinced me to cannibalize the '78 (I really din't wanna.. and, oh Chris L.. I reckon I'll have t'figure out something else for our swap.. Wink, wink ... Ennyway, the thing what really burned the biscuits is the WD40 I'd used to try to free up the date wheel (Oh yeah I did, Bubba! Caveman! Thumbs Up! Laughing!) wasn't completely dissipated, so ended up smearing inside the xtal. NOT acceptable. I am sad...

The paen to PMWF was a matter of necessity somewhat, since the dial from the '78 wouldn't work. I am sad... And when I tried t' clean the green goo off'n the 1982 models dial, the paint came off. I am sad... So.. Caveman Dial painting Thumbs Up! (I used a Sharpie Laughing!) But it did come from the heart. WIS honeymoon Wink, wink ...

Oh, can y'all tell wassup in the date window? Yeah, I got out me old drafting pencil, put a needle point on it, and signed that rascal. Laughing! Fittin' 'tis in pencil, too, as this layout will obviously be temporary. I am smiling...

Seriously, I know it's OCD of me, but I think of this (in 18, 20, and 22mm) as the Ricky Standard Strap. When I evaluate watches, I like to remove the strap from the equation. This allows me to do that.

Not that I don't like straps! Wink, wink ... When you gonna hook me up wi' a custom JohnnyT strap, bro? Laughing!
