Checkin' in from the road - day 2.. >

Day 2 (Sunday June 19): Lotsa OK and KS flatland. But if you ever wanna see what your bike will do on top, I highly recommend KS Hwy 14. Mine, as it turns out, was willin' to do 145 that day.

Highlight of the day:

Walter P. Chrysler Boyhood Home, Ellis, KS

Ol' Walter is something of a hero of mine, and it was awesome to stand in the house that he grew up in...

Surely the coolest VFW hall ever!

Lowlight of the day.. I got a ticket.  No, not a speeding ticket. Long story.. suffice to say 'twas a dumb move on my part combined with 1-in-a-million odds that a cop would be in the right place (wrong place, from my perspective.. ) Ah well, sh..tuff happens.

All in all a great day, though - and a traffic ticket can't change that! Great weather, a fast bike under you, neat things to see, and a destination to reach at days end. Does it get any better'n that? Just one of those days that makes you glad to be alive...
