Allow me to carp a bit about my latest acquisition. >

You might recall that I made this statement: "Things I don't like about it; Nothing so far!" Well, we all know there's no such thing a a Perfect Watch, so I was bound to find something sooner or later. Turns out it was sooner...
The S.U.G Nova..

..has not escaped my scrutiny. A
-related niggle: The size and shape of the lumed triangles on the hour
and minutes hands are close enough that the time is not readily
apparent-at-a-glence when relying on the lume. You got to stop and think about it.
Another
(and far more serious to me) issue is the legibility under daytime
conditions. Mostly it's OK. But the mirror-finished chrome outline of
the hands combined with the white dial means that, under certain
lighting conditions & when viewed from certain angles, the hands
effectively disappear.
Not a deal-breaker to me either, especially not at the Nova's sub-$50
price point. But I'd be a bunch happier without this nitpicky li'l
fault.
And,
it must be said, the accuracy of the S.U.G. could be better. It's
running ~ +40 sec/day which, while not an egregious level of error,
could definitely be better. The S.U.G., in contrast, is running ~ +12
sec/day - much closer to what I've come to expect from -engined s. Again, not a deal-breaker, as no one promised COSC accuracy. And it may settle down with time. Still...
As always, thanks for reading.
Have a Grrrrrrrrrrrr8 Day !

Quite a mouthful for this modest -powered watch.

At US $54 and change, perhaps the bang-for-the-buck champion of all my
2008 acquisitions. And you gotta admit, it glows pretty good.
