Thanks for the input me PMWF Brothers!
It's a landslide, 2-to-1 in favor of the black NATO. Since that's the way I was leaning anyway , I'll be placing an order today.

Alas, they're not available in 22mm.
Which is a shame, for they're a great strap for hot & humid conditions!

Hirsch makes a wicked cool looking carbon fiber strap that would look
kick ass on that watch.......it might be because I dont like nato
straps....but it ould look really good on it....

I voted "stop" but would also like for you to consider a NATO option including a thin red stripe or thread.
Not even sure such an animal exists, but I agree with the idea brought
up yesterday suggesting it would compliment the seconds hand...

Mesh . . . and it doesn't need to be a thick one for this watch >>>
It's not a diver that needs a massive mesh. Indeed, a thinner one . . .
say 2mm or so . . . would actually look and wear better with it.
Note: Also
doesn't need to be a Milanese from Milan either. A ConeHeadanese from
France . . . or even one from Hong Kong would work equally as well.

{sigh} Of course you're right, Professor.
The Staib mesh just flat worked
on the Mondaine, truly a Match Made In Heaven. But it works just a wee
bit better on The Commander.. a Match Made In Seventh Heaven.
And, I never could get past the fact that the Staib set me back almost as much as the itself.

Right. The Staib is 3.2mm, and borders on overkill for the Mondaine. But The Commander needs it. If not more! A 5mm mesh (if I could find such a thing.. are you listening, Watchadoo? ) would not be out of line, with that behemoth.
Perhaps I should take me Inner Scotsman out of the picture, temporarily. Plying him with whisky usually works. Then, whilst he's not looking, order up a budget 2mm mesh.
The one fly in the ointment is that, given my over-sized wrist, finding a mesh to fit is extremely problematic.
A hybrid like the Staib, with solid-link inserts, is my only sure-fire
Mesh Solution. Just order up however many extension links I need. Some
sliding-lock 2-pieces will work, but finding one that's of sufficient
length is a real gamble.
Hmmmmm. Lemme go see how I'm stocked for poitín...
