Boost Gliders

Boost Glide is one of the most popular NAR events. With good reason, it's great fun! The difference between a Rocket Glider and a Boost Glider is the pod on the BG, which contains the engine (top, in the photo). It pops off at apogee, returning on it's own little 'chute, while the glider soars free. A Rocket Glider, on the other hand, must remain in one piece, and the spent engine casing must remain in the glider. All Glider events are Duration competitions.

The model shown was my standard Boost Glider for 1/2A, A, B, and C competition. Not too many folks have been successful at covering such a broad engine range with a single model, but this one has won in all 4 classes! Note the wings covered with doped Jap tissue, for strength; I omit that feature on 1/2A and A models, usually.
