Meet Molly, the shaggy dawg..

She's an Irish Wolfhound / Airedale Terrier mix, about one year old. We adopted her from the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society, and she was in decent shape, really. Matted coat, lots of ticks, but no internal parasites. She's about a hand taller than Pup, but slightly lighter (70 lbs vs. Pup's 72 lbs). She is quite the character..

..and Pup wasted no time getting acquainted.

She is a powerful dog, and can take Pup down quite easily. Well.. maybe not that easily. But she definitely can overpower him. 'course, he keeps comin' back for more..

Seriously, though, they're working very well together, so far. Ol' Pup has even displayed submissive behavior which, while it may seem a bit unusual for a dog who's usually Total Alpha, really makes sense. He didn't do so until I had established clear dominance over her (in the form of a bubble bath ). Plus, she's bigger'n him (and faster I suspect).. and he really, really wants to make friends.
