1973 Honda Elsinores

CR-125 Elsinore

CR-250 Elsinore

With the 125 and 250 Elsinores of 1973, Honda served notice that they too were serious about dirt bikes!
The media attention lavished on these bikes, and the amazement of the motorcyle-buying public went beyond anything yet seen, with the possible exception of Honda's own CB-450 and CB-750. I mean, a 2-stroke Honda! This was a development somewhat akin to Hell Freezing Over!
And the bikes delivered the goods. Almost immediately, Honda Elsinores became the bike to beat. Only Yamaha proved up to the challenge; it would take Kawasaki and Suzuki years to catch up.
