This is another one from the Caveman Cornucopia and, yes, another that I forgot to document in the original post Oops! (Hey! There was a lot of stuff there! Wink). But after this y'all will have now seen it all, I think.. well, there is that black PVD Pilot bracelet, and the bagged & tagged Pulsar diver case & bracelet..

ANYway, I'm a bit reluctant to admit this.. but the first time I attempted to remove the caseback, I was totally defeated. Frowning It's apparently attached by 4 screws, and they just wouldn't budge. I returned to it on Friday morning, though, with fresh determination to get those screws out, even if I had to drill them. Well.. as I was getting the screwdrivers out, a thought struck me. You'll note that I said "apparently attached by 4 screws". Yup! The screws are purely ornamental, and 'tis actually a snapin caseback! ! Man! I wish they wouldn't do that! This practice, along with faux 'wrench notches' on a snapin caseback, is just pure evil!

Long story short, the battery change went smoothly from there on, and it fired right up upon installation of a fresh 373 cell. So without further ado, I present the..

..Visage Triple-Date!

'tis a mid-sized case, 30mm wide and 38mm across the lugs, with a comfy 'Curvex' style caseback, all quite well finished. The movement turned out to be a rather nice one, too, a whacking great 10.5 ligne caliber VX3F from Time Modules Inc. (TMI is a division of Seiko Epson). The calendar functions are not set with the pushers, as you might expect. No, the 'pushers' are dummies, totally non-functional , and all functions are set via the crown. It's a 2-click system, with the month and date being quickset. With the crown at the first click, clockwise rotation of the crown sets the date, and spinning it widdershins sets the month. The day is not quickset, though the forward-to-3AM-backwards-to-9PM 'semi-quickset' routine does work.

One rather unusual thing about this one..

..is the lug width - 21mm! I think this is the first 21mm strap I've ever seen. That's the OEM strap pictured but, of course, 'twas too short for a Caveman Wrist. I put it on a black 20mm 1-piece nylon first, but that just looked wrong. So now I've got it on a brown 20mm leather croc-pattern with deployant. Quite similar in appearance to the OEM strap, actually, though a bit darker in color. It wears well!

Best thing about this one is the condition.. like the Q&Q Railroad Approved, it's absolutely mint! Indeed, if not for the fact that the strap shows signs of use, I'd take it for NOS. Not sure if this one will be a keeper, or no, as the rectangular planform is not exactly my cuppa. However, that means I don't have many in the collection, and this is the only one with "chrono styling" so, as such, it definitely fills a niche. We'll see...

T'anks for lookin', y'all!

I'd love to see a photo when you get a Rount Tuit. Laughing
