aka Home again, home again, jiggety-jig...
Day 19 (July 6th); Midlands, TX > Dallas TX
Day 20 (July 7th); Dallas TX > Olive Branch, MS
We're baaaack!
20 days and 5,025 miles total, and right on schedule...
The ST1100 was, as expected, reliable as a stone axe. The one 'repair' was to the Vista-Cruise throttle lock. It loosened up on day 5 and wouldn't hold. This required a flat-blade screwdriver & a half-turn to the adjustment screw. Took about 2 minutes all told, and most of that was R&Ring the seat to access the toolkit. Had to change the oil in El Paso, and my back tire is pretty much shot now, but those can only be considered routine maintenance.
All in all, a most excellent adventure. 'twas well worth the few minor discomforts! Which, in any case, only serve to build character. I'd do it again in a minute.. though I'm not so sure 'bout Pam.
I'm planning on putting a wee travelogue up on the web site, but that will take a while.. just wanted to let everyone know that we made it home safely.
Later!
