Wow! Yes, it's terrible -but for less than $4, shipped? Crazy! Great way to get batteries
Sure it's the horological equivelent of a Testarossa conversion of a
Firebird... but, for an OTC price of a 387S cell you can get it shipped
in special battery "holder" that actually that keeps time.
Although, one may wonder what the seller could be doing with your billing information...

That's one way to look at it. Thing is, I believe I'll stick with sure 'nough Energizers.
The Bunny rocks!

Yes, that's certainly a valid concern. I understand that our Anonymous Benefactor took.. ah, certain steps
to prevent this. And also to test whether buying from the merchant in
question would result in increased Spam, etc. AFAIK, the answer is "No"
on both counts. It kinda pains me to say it but, at least in the specific aspect of using your account info only for the purpose intended, this seller seem legit.

Good thing is that it can be modded to a beautiful no name dial watch!
As for the fakes, yes , we all know they have always been there and will
always be. They are a part of reality as we are also a part of reality!
So, whenever we find one, we can at least try to ... mod it!!! That was
a very good topic, Ricky! I know I am becoming boring by saying this
often but that is what I think!

That will almost certainly be the eventual fate of this particular example.

Nonsense! Say it all you like, I never tire of hearing it!

And the funny thing about that,? Thats actually one of the low quality ones......
They have examples out there that have the chrono functions and the
proper looking caseback!!! Even more disturbing, the LeLocle fakes out
there actually have a really good looking fake ETA auto inside!!!!!!

Re: Even more disturbing, the LeLocle fakes out there actually have a really good looking fake ETA auto inside!
Disturbing indeed. Taken to that level, these s become downright evil, IMHO.
I
assume that a fake LeLocle with a true ETA engine would sell for a
price very close to the Original Article. As I mentioned to Bro. Harold,
below, this equates to a concerted attempt to deceive, in a way that a
fake R0lex seldom in practice does.

I have no doubt of it.

I have no doubt that any watch has been, currently is being, or could be faked
And that includes vintages, as a couple of Ricky's BFTP posts have
indicated. When I quipped the other day about Parnis watches being
faked, I was only half joking. If a Casio F-91W can suffer a fake industry, anything can. The usual "It's not worth faking a $200 Brand X" is a pretty empty argument when a sub-$10 watch is being faked.

Amen, brother, amen!
The fact that some folks still deny this, despite all the solid evidence, is just plumb amazing to me.

Anything that can be faked to sell for even a small profit, will be..
and its not just suckers that get taken.. I've seen locally, fake
bottles of Creed fragrances, which considering Creed not a really easy
brand to find out here, or all that well known either at first was
rather surprising.. A 100ml bottle of the "jus reale" runs to $300.. the
knockoff was going for $25..
Having said that, Creed's "Royal
Oud" is a very, very nice scent (I picked up a sample from the
authorized outlet) I should see if I can find some Montale "Black Oud"

Re: ..and its not just suckers that get taken.
Mind you, I do believe that anyone who bought one of these ultra-low-end s thinking it was a real easily qualifies as "a sucker". Compared to the Genuine Article, it's just so..
..obvious
a Fake. Even without looking at the back, much less opening it up, the
lack of a Date complication makes it plain as day.
That being said, I fear that plenty of honest, well-meaning consumers are being snookered on the more advanced functioning-chrono PRC200 fakes. In far, far greater numbers, I reckon, than those who buy fake high-end watches thinking they're real. I mean, come on! How many buyers of R0lex truly believe them to be genuine? Right. Darned few! I might even go so far as to say "practically none".
But
a convincing fake Tissot, selling for near the price of the genuine
article.. that's a far more insidious and deceiving thing.

Well.. less than a minute with Google Shopping and I was presented with an "Add To Shopping Cart" button.
I'm assuming the site I found offers Official Merchandise, judging by the prices. The Montale Black Aoud goes for US $165 for 100 ml, with the Royal Aoud being US $175 per 100 ml.
I think I'll stick to Old Spice...

Ah..
Royal Oud up here is about $275 for the larger size.. most online
dealers won;t ship to the GWN, something about postal regs and shipping
stuff that has alcohol in it.. And to date my most pricey scent was
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet at a mere $100, for 100ml..
I do have Old Spice, and it does get used..
