No real 'before' photo, but the watch is a Panny homage which came with a nondescript Chinese-quartz module, dead on arrival.

Sound case, though, a 15/16th scale model (41 MM) of the Classic panny case.

Here you see the dial w/ feet surgically removed (wouldn't fit me ESA 805.144 replacement module), components cleaned, & ready to assemble.

Genuine Post about Swiss-made watch movement carefully epoxied in place.. This is the Good Side of the Over $100 Quartz Conspiracy that Colby abhors. It may be distressing to buy a $500 diver with a $10 movement, but the fact that a Mississippi CaveMan can swap in such a movement is a Very Good Thing. Thumbs up! ..catch that I was able to keep the OEM hour and minute hands? WIS Honeymoon Happily, they were the same 70/120 sizes required by the ESA movement. The seconds hand was a .17, though, where the ESA needs a .20 size. So I used that blue Uncle Otto seconds hand and, not to toot me own horn, but it's about a 240% improvement over the red-tipped silver 'meatball' hand that it had as OEM. Wink

I'm diggin' it totally! WIS Honeymoon Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off

Thanks again, Marc!

Thought the second hand looked different, big improvement! (n/t)

Thanks boss! Wink, wink... I've put quite a bit of R & D into the method..

..both in technique and with different adhesives. The result is not exactly elegant.. but I've got it to a point now where it flat works. Smile

I use 2 dial dots (visible at 3 and 8 in the 3rd photo) to tack the movement in place, backed up with the 2 Rodico balls at 6 & 12. The best epoxy I've found thus far is JB Weld 'Kwik'. Very tenacious indeed, yet not impossible to remove if required

Thumbs up! I am smiling (n/t)

WIS Honeymoon Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off Note that I use the Rodico only to TEMPORARILY hold the movement..

..in place, while the epoxy cures. I have (so far) resisted the temptation to leave it in place, as you once suggested. Wink
