Sure, it's got some wabi. But, to me, this just means "more character". Wink Gives it that comfortable, lived-in look that is the hallmark of a True Veteran. Thumbs up!

Shown here wearing the OEM folded link bracelet..

Alas, if I wear it on the bracelet for too long, this is the result:

Eek! Oops! Eek! Oops! Eek!

What to do, what to do? I am confused Well, remove the offending bracelet, for starters:

And whilst doing so, I noted one feature that made me rethink the 2-tone case. Sure, Dear Constant Reader, you wil recall that I contemplated swappin' cases. But after test-driving Bro. Dan's creation, I got to admit that the ITC case, including the 2-tone treatment, works darned good. Clapping! And ye'll note that the ITC is full stainless, where the case is plated base metal. Going from full-SS to base metal seems like a step backwards to me Crazy! Loco! so, at least for now, it will stay as-is.

OK, I need a strap. When In Doubt Go Nylon, I say. Accordingly..

Clapping! Clapping! Looks great! And your hand looks >>

And it feels a lot better, too! Winking

Ayup, "It won't make your hand fall off" is a powerful recommendation for a watch strap! Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off!

Laughing Smile Thumbs up! (n/t)

So that one's stainless? Never noticed. I am confused
Looks great on that nylon strap BTW. Really pleased you like it. Take good care of her, she was my first. Blushing

Yup, per the "STAINLESS STEEL CASE & BACK" verbiage.
I didn't remember that, either I am confused. And was surprised, given there is some staining along the edges of the lugs that did not clean up readily. Crazy! Loco!

But I tested the case with a diamond scribe in an inconspicuous spot, and it's definitely solid steel. My best guess is that the case itself is 400-series SS, while the case back (and probably the bracelet) is 300-series.

Here's a thought, if you really want the all silver look, could you switch the bezel and crown with the Arm? (n/t)

DJM 81 May 21, 2010 09:33PM

I considered that. Indeed, that was my original thought in last week's post, ye'll recall. Wink But..
.."Case" customarily includes the bezel and, to a lesser extent the crown. So the ITC bezel is almost certainly solid SS, and probably the crown, too. Thumbs up!

But dollars to donuts the Armitron bezel is base metal. I am frowning Not sure about the crown.. I just spent a couple of minutes examining it with me 14X loupe, and judging by the machining and the wear pattern, it might be SS. But I'm thinkin' leave well enough alone.. LOL

Re: But I'm thinkin' leave well enough alone.
Sounds like a good idea, especially if you're warming to the two-tone, as it seems you are given the new strap with gold-tone buckle. Looks good!
