The gold-plated buckle had to go, of course. That's a 16mm ricky_us SS deployant.

Compared to the Speidel croc this strap is quite a bit thinner (unpadded) and has a slightly more aggressive taper.

It wears a lot different..

O' course there are still two wee problems: * Summer-time * Mississippi I seriously do have a nearly iron-clad "No Leather Straps In The Summer" rule. Sure I'll occasionally cheat and wear one for a few hours whilst knocking about in the air-conditioning. But actually stepping out the door with one? No. Not between ~ May 31 and October 31. So being as this watch is still new (to me) and much in favor, this is going to be a challenge! At some point I will still fit a mesh bracelet, I reckon. Or perhaps even one of these.. ..though obviously a straight-end unit. I confess I've never tried Sure 'nough Rubber. Mind you I'm not a huge fan of silicone nor other rubbery synthetics. I know that, on paper, they appear ideal for hot & humid conditions. But I don't like the "slippery" feel they take on when things get really perspirational. Quote Dave M They do not attract lint. That's a big plus! Shark, huh? I hadn't even considered that.! But, yeah, I think it could work. You know, I've long wanted both a shark and a sting ray strap. Problem is it'd almost have to be a custom to fit me. I don't know about those "holey" straps... I don't mind the look but I'd be afraid of strange sunburns. The bracelet in the middle of that pic looks a lot like that of my late 90s early 2000s vintage Seamaster Pro. So that might be an option, but probably not a cheap one. To me, it is a bit too fancy for the watch. Too glossy for a more sporty watch style. It might work, if you buffed the case to a high gloss, but it might not too. I think that watch is a great candidate for gray leather or some kind of NATO or RAF strap.
