Seiko 7009-8279-P Automatic
Shown on nylon strap
I purchased this one at a local (Memphis, TN) fleamarket for $5. The strap started life as the pouch carry strap for a set of barbecue utensils, a freebie from a Tunica, MS casino.
This watch is in sad shape: the Seiko logo fell off the dial and is long gone. The dial itself has a heavy patina. The case shows heavy brassing on the front, and has several pinhead+ sized pits on the back. But you know what? This rascal still runs great! It's a much more smooth and accurate watch than my vintage Seiko 5, despite the fact that the 5 was treated to a $80+ service last fall. Car, bike, watch.. some mechanical objects were just Born To Run. This Seiko is one!
