This watch arrived from Down Under on 8 February, a thoughtful bonus from Bro. John (aka JY) in the Fossil GMT Deal. But sure, Dear Constant Reader, you will recall the New watch arrived! announcement. While I haven't worn it as intensely as I have the GMT, I do feel I have taken it's measure quite well. So we'll have a wee Review. winking smiley

Here's the watch:

..and the extra straps.

Well, heck. Let's have a close-up of yon extra straps!

The canvas jobbie, while a very nice strap indeed, is too short for me ankle-sized wrist. Oops! My mistake! But the brown NATO is A-OK, and will certainly see some action.

The watch arrived with a flat cell, so I got to check out the movement right away:

Flat SS caseback secured with 4 screws, what I've come to think of as "a Casio pattern".

Once inside..

The movement is revealed to be a caliber 6P25. Mind you that came as no surprise, as it's stamped right on the caseback. winking smiley

One fresh #364 later, and she was ticking merrily away.

It's quite a chunky beastie...

Plastic resin case and bracelet (though with a significant amount of metal trim) measuring 43mm x 50mm x 13mm thick, with a 22mm integrated bracelet. So it's quite light, too. Very light for a watch of it's size, at 78.5 grams.

Mineral glass crystal. The sub-dials are, of course, Day and Date.

Pretty decent lume! Pops well out of the gate, but doesn't quite have all-night staying power. Still, good on for makin' a stab at livin' up to the name! Rollin' on the floor laughin' me ass off!

Got to say, it sure does WEAR Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr8! thumbs up

Thanks once again Bro. JY!

Thanks mate! It does have a rather unique "feel" on the wrist. (n/t) Caveman001 28 February 18, 2013 04:44PM
Looking good Ricky, neat review
You'll really appreciate how light it wears in hot weather - enjoy!

I'm sure I will! For, of course, we're no stranger to heat eye popping smiley in Mississippi.. Not Australia-class heat, mind, but then ours is generally combined with off-the-scale humidity. Oops! My mistake!

Note that I went back and edited in the actual measured stats. My 75 gram guess was pretty close!
